RENPOWER GREECE 2026
The 7th Edition · 8 July 2026 · Athens, Greece
ATHENS, June 2026 — Euroconvention Global will host the seventh edition of RENPOWER Greece on 8 July 2026 in Athens, a senior-level market strategy and finance forum for the people who will decide which of the country’s renewable projects actually get financed. As Greece moves into a merchant-driven power market, the forum brings developers, technology providers, lenders and traders to the same table to answer one question above all others: what makes a hybrid renewable project bankable when subsidies are no longer the safety net?
The timing is deliberate. In 2025 Greece set new records for renewable output, yet it also curtailed roughly 1,867 GWh of clean generation, about 6.6% of total renewable production and more than double the year before. Hours of zero or negative wholesale prices more than doubled to 483, and small and mid-sized solar producers saw monthly revenues fall by 50 to 70% during the spring. With the state’s feed-in premium support scheme winding down at the end of 2025, new projects increasingly stand on their own in the wholesale market. That shift, from guaranteed subsidy-backed revenue to market-based merchant exposure, is the “merchant era,” and it is rewriting how projects are structured, priced and financed.
This seventh edition focuses on making hybrid renewable projects bankable in increasingly merchant-driven power markets.
A market strategy and finance forum, by design
RENPOWER Greece 2026 is built to:
- bridge developers, technology providers, lenders and traders around a shared agenda;
- translate market volatility into financeable revenue models;
- address the evolving finance structures and the regulatory framework shaping them;
- position PPAs as the new market driver as subsidy schemes retire; and
- showcase Greece as a regional hybrid energy hub for Southeast Europe.
Following the capital, across six sessions
The agenda is organised around where the money moves. It opens by setting the scenario, from a subsidy market to an investment platform, then works through risk allocation as Greece shifts from feed-in tariffs to PPAs; evolving financing models across debt, equity and asset recycling; the grid, storage and bankability constraints that gate new investment; financing grid-scale BESS as battery storage moves from optional to critical; and finally Greece as a regional renewable investment platform for the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean. Each session closes with an interactive panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Speakers and panellists
The programme draws senior decision-makers from across the energy value chain: development banks and international financial institutions, commercial lenders, regulators and system operators, energy exchanges, utilities and independent power producers, developers, technology providers and traders. The full confirmed speaker line-up will be announced in the coming weeks as confirmations are finalised.
Who should attend
RENPOWER Greece 2026 is designed for independent power producers and developers, investors and lenders, storage and technology providers, advisers, law firms, traders and utilities. It is for anyone whose decisions depend on getting large-scale renewable and hybrid projects financed and built. Attendees gain a clear read on where capital is flowing, direct access to the institutions setting the rules, and the partnerships that turn a pipeline into bankable assets.
“Greece has become one of Europe’s clearest tests of what bankability means when the subsidies come off. The projects that get built next will be the ones that turn volatility into a revenue model lenders can trust, and that is exactly the conversation we are convening in Athens.”
