CRES’ 3,01 MW Demonstration Wind Farm in Complex Terrain

The aim of the project is the installation of a demonstrative wind farm comprising five wind turbines of 3.01 MW installed power, at site Agia Marina – Lavrio for the evaluation and demonstration of wind turbine available technologies.

The benefits of the implementation of the project are focused especially on:

• The evaluation of wind turbine operation in the case of complex terrain topography
• Evaluation of novel control systems, re-definition of operational strategies for the maximization of wind penetration in electrical grids.
• Development of techniques and solutions for the minimization of production cost.
• Obtainment of valuable experience from CRES side, which is spread to manufacturers and wind farm owners.
