ΒIOGAS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

The idea of the project was to establish a virtual biogas centre of excellence, by the join efforts of well experienced partners, organisations and in institutions from 12 EU countries. The aim of the activity of the virtual biogas centre was to contribute to the development of markets for biogas in the EU and candidate countries by transferring and disseminating the best available technology, knowledge, experience and know how. Another important aim was to identify barriers and finding solutions for their removal and by this contributing to the increasing of the awareness about the benefits and the potential of biogas /AD systems.

The virtual biogas centre will improve information dissemination and co-ordination at the international, EU, national, regional and local level, thereby increasing investor confidence and market penetration and speeding up investment in biogas technologies to reach the EU White paper goals of RES specifically in the field of biogas.
