EUROPEAN PROJECTS ➤ Fourth Framework Programme ➤ MARINECO
Environmentally friendly electricity from waves
Website | https://cordis.europa.eu/ |
The MARINECO project relates to the ecologically friendly power engineering, namely power recovery from the sea waves. The system considered includes Float Wave Electric Power Station (FWEPS) as an offshore device for sea wave energy conversion to electricity and an installation for hydrogen production by means of sea water electrolysis together environmentally integrated.
The present project deals with mathematical modelling, bench testing and open sea testing of a FWEPS prototype. CRES’ was involved in the following activities: hydrodynamic analysis; design of bench testing facility; survey of wave climate in the Aegean Sea; assessment of hydrogen production in conjunction with wave power.
The MARINECO project was supported by the 5th Framework Programme of the European Commission.
