Project Targets:
- Promote energy conservation in all sectors.
- Reduce the energy intensity and therefore increasing Jordan competitiveness.
- Create favorable conditions for renewable energy sources utilization.
- Creating a market for energy efficiency and renewable energy.
- Enhance NERC's capacity to carry out its role as a national energy center.
- To assist in restructuring of NERC in line with EU best practices.
- To enhance NERC's capacity in the field of energy efficiency.
- To build the capacity of NERC in the field of wind energy and assist in the establishment of a regional wind testing and training facility.
- To build the capacity of the Photovoltaic systems (PV) Division.
The project attempts to enhance NERC’s overall administrative, operational and expert institutional capacity in order to meet the energy challenges facing Jordan in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable way and inline with international and EU best practices and to assist Jordan in meeting its commitments.
