Project Description:
The main goal of this project has been the development of an information system to be used by the Greek Ministry of Development, as a mechanism for the monitoring of the Energy Sector and a tool for decision support in Energy Policy and Planning. The system has provided also an infrastructure to provide Energy Information Services to all interested parties.
The system can be accessed by the Greek ministry of development internet site (www.ypan.gr) and comprises the following
An Energy Statistics Section including comprehensive information that will be used for energy policy analysis. This section follows the concept of the energy flows that are inherent in the logic of the system.
An Energy Maps Section providing a geographical interpretation of energy statistics as well as energy networks maps (natural gas, electricity) and energy resources geographical information (oil – geothermal and coal fields …)
An Energy-Related Activities Section comprising information about energy legislation, energy standards and projects.
