The SMAFIN Expanded project aims to support the implementation of smart financing for energy renovation of existing private and/or public buildings, to support energy efficiency investments in SMEs and the tertiary sector.
Based on the 12 successful roundtable discussions organized in Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece and Romania within the framework of the SMAFIN project of the European Horizon 2020 Programme, the new SMAFIN Expanded project of the LIFE program expands thematically, incorporating new sectors and geographically welcoming Slovenia in the group.
It plans to focus on private and public buildings, as in the first phase, to further investigate problems identified during the implementation of the SMAFIN project, as well as on the tertiary sector and SMEs that were initially partially examined.
The project will elaborate policy proposals and monitor the implementation of the ones elaborated in the framework of SMAFIN, overcoming the common obstacle faced by EU projects losing some of their momentum after the end of their contract. The proposed action will result in the formulation of a methodology for the roundtable discussion service that will be presented to volunteer countries, outside of those participating in the project, aiming to its replication.
The project website that will inform about the news of the SMAFIN Expanded project and the results of the SMAFIN project is available at www.smafin.eu
