Georgios Karvounakis

Georgios Karvounakis is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business and has done graduate work on business management. He is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece and the Hellenic Management Association. He is the Director of Administrative and Financial Services at the National Centre of Scientific Research “Demokritos” and has been a member of the board of directors of the NCSR “Demokritos” since 1994.

At various times, he has held the following positions: Member of the board of directors of Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos S.A., Member of the board of directors of the Sismanoglio Hospital (Athens), Member of the board of directors of CERECO S.A. and Member of the Research Committee of the NCSR “Demokritos”. He has been a member of the civil service council of : NCSR “Demokritos”, National Centre for Social Research, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, National Observatory of Athens.

Mr. Karvounakis has served as a financial consultant to various companies. He is very active socially and professionally in many sectors of the civil service, especially those concerning research, industry, energy and technology. He has published extensively on financial analysis and has done studies on management and marketing. He is active in local government as a council member of the Municipal Council of Melissia (Attiki).
